A regular alarm compliment was summoned to 3335 Arlington Ave. at 9:01 a.m. this morning for the report of a structure fire.
Toledo Fire & Rescue Engine 4 was the first to arrive on scene at 9:05 a.m. to find smoke coming from the garden-style apartment building.
An immediate interior attack of the fire ensued with a rapid primary search of the apartment on the third floor.
A victim was located within minutes and removed to the hallway where life-saving interventions were begun. The patient was transported to the University of Toledo Medical Center for further treatment.
Tragically, the individual succumbed to those injuries received during the fire.
This fire is under investigation by the T.F.R.D. Fire Investigation Unit.
