** UPDATE ** – A 4th body has been recovered at the fire scene on Cheyenne Blvd. Crews continue the difficult task of overhauling the structure and searching for hot spots.

Toledo Fire & Rescue crews were summoned to 2403 Cheyenne Blvd. at 4 a.m. this morning for a report of a apartment fire with possible occupants trapped. First crews on scene reported heavy fire conditions and initially coordinated a transitional attack along with rescue operations.

A second alarm was transmitted by Battalion Chief 2 upon his arrival. Due to the large nature of this complex multiple crews began firefighting and rescue efforts under extreme weather conditions.

Tragically, three occupants died in this fire. The American Red Cross is assisting those left homeless as a result of this incident.

Investigators with the Ohio State Fire Marshall are on scene assisting our Fire Investigation Unit to determine a cause of this deadly fire.
