Toledo Fire & Rescue urges you to change the batteries in your smoke alarms today to coincide with the time change occurring this morning at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 3. At a minimum you should have a smoke alarm on every level of your home, and, test them monthly.
This is also a good time to make sure that you also have an escape plan in place so that everyone in your household knows what to do in the event of a fire. Please don’t wait to do this, it can save your life!
If you are in need of smoke alarms and a resident of the city of Toledo, you may go to any Toledo Fire & Rescue Department station, and, after completing a short form, receive your smoke alarms at no cost to you.
