In 1964, under Fire Chief Karl B. Sheidler, department strength went from 487, to 502, and Fire Station 25 was opened at 2933 West Central Avenue, between Drummond and Meadowwood.

On April 1, 1969, two-man rescue units were placed in service at five fire stations, with Station 25 receiving one of those units.

Various equipment has operated out of Station 25, and at present, Engine 25 and Rescue Transport 25, along with back up apparatus occupy stalls there today.
